Nat West Mortgage application

Bizarre phone call from Natwest today regarding my mortgage application. I have asked for £134K on a £244K property. I earn £35K a year and the amount requested was agreed on an AIP.
A member of the mortgage team left a message on my phone and I returned their call, of course they were not available. I spoke to another member of staff who said there were no notes on the file as to why he called but it could be to do with a house renovation contingency fund I requested. I have never asked for this!!!!
Of course the member of staff who left the message is now on leave until 3rd Jan, despite when speaking to another member of staff on Wednesday that a decision by 29th. I am now really worried about my application. should I ring again? I am a nervous that the application could have issues?? I have a near perfect credit score, no credit card debt or other loans

I can't particularly comment on your case, sounds like to me you needn't worry and seems like a genuine error. I have a residential mortgage with NatWest, I find their mortgage residential customer service ranking poor, and look forward to moving when the time comes to remortgage.Student loan: Cleared.0
