Some people sing praises about Thermomix . I really like it, but £1000 price tag is scary. Is it really worth it? Perhaps there's someone here, who's purchased one? Thanks.

Before spending money like this, count up just how may times a week you perform any of the processes that this wonderful piece of equipment does, then count up how much time you would really save by mechanising those processes, how many other pieces of kitchen equipment you could dispense with, then balance that against the time cleaning the thing, the amount of space it would take up in your kitchen. Oh, and think of the lovely holiday you could have with that £1,000.

My daughter in Australia has the latest Thermomix and loves it. I have the TM 31 as got it for under £50.
I don't rate it even at that cheap price. You can't brown onions without it being on for over a hour so if you make a curry you have to use a frying pan first. If u want to make bread / cakes the Thermomix will blend all ingredients but then you have to use a proper oven to cook bread/ cakes. For the price it's listed at I would have expected it cook everything in the Thermomix.
I use it to make yogurt and sometimes mash potatoes
