DBS performed without my consent?

Your employer would use some agency who then contact the DBS. At least that's why my employer did ie Manpower contacted another agency. Do you know what level of check it is? If it was a Basic Check then the DBS as I understand has taken over doing this level from 'Disclosure Scotland'. And since they are new and have some new IT system, they're in a mess. The result of the check will be posted to you. But if there's anything on it ie any unspent convictions, then the DBS or this middle-man agency will notify your employer. It will be up to you to show them what's on the cert.


Edit to add that in order to correct what I wrote above.....Disclosure Scotland now still do the Basic Checks if you want one done as and individual. There are umbrella bodies which can perform checks for employers outside of Scotland; there's over 900 over. It's all a part of a big money making scam of course. Try dealing with any of these bodies.
