Is that a day off and plain time pay for working on the Sunday or just a day off in lieu?
Good question afaik its just a day off but will see if she can find out,
    Thanks

Edit; It seems its just a day off in lieu
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter as there is no requirement for enhanced rates for overtime. Assuming the overtime is not contractual, her only option is to refuse overtime.

Might depend on the company, at mine we can have double pay or time off in lieu, we are given the choice though(although thinking about it its only been the past year they;ve given us the option)

As that has been clarified I would be reviewing the situation for any underlying reasons and where the give/take goodwill point will be in the future.

My main issue would be the potential breakdown of trust, and why this situation has happened.

When was the decision made, who made it and why was it not communicated before the work was done.

To go from double pay to TOIL is a significant change unless there had been earlier changes like normal overtime went from being paid to TOIL.

I would be wanting clarification going forward on the terms for overtime.
