Hello, I need a new nightdress (maybe two), and seen them in M&S that I liked - now do I order them now or do I wait till the sales? Just trying to save a few.

Why don't you order now but don't use them. If they turn up in the sale in your size you can buy them again and take the original purchase back.

How would anyone here know the answer to that? Nobody is clairvoyant! Grubby little ruses like buy now with a view to returning...do you really want to stoop that low?

I guess I just wanted to know if M&S do a sale how early. Don't think I would carry out the suggestion in buying now and returning - doesn't sit right with me.

Always good to know that there are straightforward and honest people on this forum.

M&S seem to be one long sale these days. They often start a 'new' one on Christmas Day or Boxing Day, so why not put your chosen items in your online basket (without actually completing the checkout/payment procedure) and check back regularly to see if they are included in the sale - if they are, the reduced price will show in your basket and you can just complete the payment process.

To be fair everything in retail stores is on sale nearly all year round, it is the only way they get to compete with online shopping, That said the sales after christmas I tend to find very specific and generally only 10% off for things you may actually want so yes you can wait for the sales to save a couple of quid, or you may be lucky and have your items in the 75% off which i highly doubt as this is nearly always end of line stock they have not shifted.
