Talk talk MoriatyLaw

Good Afternoon,
I have received a letter from Moriarty law stating I owe talk talk a sum of £225.50. And that if I don't pay or respond to their letter in 30 days they will be in a position to start county court proceedings.
I did have a talk talk account back in 2011 and there were issues when I did a 'home move' where they left both my old account and new account running but as far as I was aware this issue was highlighted as their error and resolved.
Talk talk have point blank refused to pass any information to me and stated I must call Moriarty law as talk talk have no details on their systems.
I don't want to call Moriarty law and have them constantly ringing me demanding payment especially over Christmas. There are a couple of template prove it letters I've seen and think I should send one of those as I have no idea what the debt is for and have not received anything prior to today (they state In the letter notice was given to me on 30/04/2015 which is not true)
Anyone advise on the best action to take?
Many thanks

Hi Kyle
Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you might have received a letter before claim. That is a letter a company must send you before they are allowed to take court action. They must give you 30 days to respond.
You will know if this is a letter before claim as there will be a reply form giving you a number of options, such as you admit the debt and want to make an offer, you dispute the debt, you want further information or you want extra time to seek debt advice. There will also be an information sheet and a budget sheet included.
If this is a letter before claim it's very important to respond on the form they have given you within the 30 days. It's also best to return it by recorded delivery. If you don't think it is a letter before claim then it is fine to send the standard prove it letter.
