Hi there,
My partner and I are looking at countries to potentially move to, and our child has extensive special needs.
Considering the UK, We’ve found some private special needs schools in the UK going for about 50k a year, and I’ve been looking without success for information on if any of that can be deducted from tax.
We’re EU citizens which should be useful (for now!) and I have clarity on the DLA and carer allowances.
Any input welcome!

No, you cannot claim anything for this in the UK.0

In a lot of cases the costs of the school are met by the local authority. The child will have a statement that declares school X to be the only school that fits the needs of the child and the LA will fund the place.
So it is a private school in the sense that it is not controlled by the LA and doesn't receive funding from the government, but in practice it is funded by the LA paying for individual pupils to attend.
Best contact the school directly who will offer guidance on how to get funding. These things take time and you probably have to live in the Local authority that will be responsible for providing an education for your child.
In your position, assuming you already have the right to live in this country, the school could possibly direct you to the LA(s) that are easier to deal with on funding places. So you could choose where to live based on this.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
