£250 debt became £2700 owed!

Hello, I am in a terrible situation. Pre-2004 I took out a Monument credit card with a £250 credit limit. I used and maintained the repayments. One day a purchase went through and it took me around £5 over my limit. Charges were applied and as I paid via DD I didn't realise. I was paying the monthly repayments often…

No, No, No, don't pay the CCJ, that will count as acknowledgement that the debt is yours and you are happy to pay it.

It will definitely compromise your set-aside application if you do so, also how will you pay your rent ?

Never jump into the frying pan, from the fire, research a debt relief order, get all your debts included, any form of insolvency automatically wipes out an outstanding CCJ, so that may be your best course of action.
