Tend to be mainly around the south-east as the students we host tend to visit London on their trips. Could also try local language schools? But likely to need to commit for longer, whilst those on school visits to the UK tend to stay 3/4 nights and never at weekends.0

A quick google search of 'host families in Edinburgh' brings up a few schools. A few also advertise on gumtree too.0

Hi,
I live in West Sussex and have a spare room, how does one go about having foreign students?0 -
There are a couple of centres near you - Redhill or Crawley. Drop them a line and they can talk you through it.0

Any damage caused by the kids is covered by their own insurers, but council tax I'm not so sure as we pay full tax anyway. As they are not permanent (ie 3-4 nights) and it's different students every week, would they simply be classed as visitors in both cases?
I am an organizer for Host Families myself, the Host Families don't pay for the council Tax, as they're only visitors.
All of my Host Families enjoy the experience, and the money side is also a good EXTRA income, be it for holiday, buy a new car, etc.
Some of my Host Families travel as far as 15 miles away from the meeting point.
We 3 families doing it since their own children were very young, and now the children also hosting students.
Most of the Host Families work full time. Social Services, Councils, Teachers, Office, Beauticians, finance, etc.0 -
