Why are they not using their approved salary sacrifice scheme?

it is also possible to bypass HMRC and salary sacrifice completely with suitable adjustments to contracts.

if extra holidays is taxed then that is no different to going part time(working fewer hours overall) then that should also be taxed.

what about compassionate leave that is also just working less and employees don't have to pay tax on that if it is not paid leave.
