There's a difference between being sacked as in "that's gross misconduct, now clear your locker and get out" and sacked as in "sorry but we're letting you go" aka redundancy. Think you may want to clarify which experience tales you're after.
For the latter its typically a case of "made redundant" will attract slightly more sympathy than "My fingers were caught in the till" sort of thing...0 -
OP did say dismissed to be fair.0

Sacked as in not up to the job in their eyes.0 -

Not being suited to one job doesn't mean it's not possible to be suited to another. If it purely a case of being a square peg in a round hole it shouldn't be too much of an obstacle to finding another job. Dismissal on the grounds of misconduct might be a different matter.0 -
Got sacked on Tuesday end of November. Started new job a week later.
I had worked for current employer before, so was just invited in for an informal chat before I rejoined the firm.Never Knowingly Understood.

I don't think there is much to stick around for when in this situation, grab another job, any job you feel you can reasonably do. If you can ask an ex employer for your old job or similar back so much the better.
I have been in the situation of being told it wasn't working at day 5 of a new job before now by the employer and couple of occasions I am sure I have walked before being pushed.
Resigned on Wednesday, back working Monday of the next week 4/5 weeks work as a Depot Operative - will have learnt new skills and been opened up to different work by the end of it as it is slightly different so it couldn't have worked out better. I can only hope to do as well when the assignment finishes!
Even if I am the dark angel of the job scene what is it they say - "you are the maker of your own destiny" if a job is not right, there is nothing you can do.0 -
It depends why you have been dismissed and the type of job you do.0
