Keeping a diary - is it old fashioned?

An interesting thread. I’m not a journal writer, well not since adolescence and then it was wittering romantic nonsense.
My mother, aged 89 and three quarters has been deciphering her diaries written during the war years when she was evacuated to the Baltic coast. She hand made / stitched small pieces of paper together, gave then cardboard backs and fronts and wrote in tiny tiny writing in pencil. A friend did some magical enlarged and enhanced photocopies to make them easier to read and now my DM is writing up her war memoirs. As she’s German they are a fascinating insight to life on the other side.
None of this makes me want to keep more than an appointments type diary though I’m really pleased to read my mum’s.0 -
The sad thing re bullet journalling or diarising is when you have more stash of journals than you need, mainly because you have to hunt down dot grid ones as they are like gold dust amongst BUJO community. But one good thing it has taught me is how to use my fountain pen again and I absolutely adore it, to the point that I have to buy lots of inks, and different pens..
Maybe I should have stuck to just having a plain diary.Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️
