cv's, interviews, benefit system...your views plz...

you know how it is,
you write a cv for the umpteen time,
you get 1 interview out of 10 jobs applied for,
then you don't get the job....

i, like many others have had to endure this merry go round for a long time now.

The funny thing is, when i fail to get the job at the interview, they never tell me that i am unable to do the job, or i can't fit it, they always tell me they think I won't stick about long enough....ahhhhhhh!!!!!

what kind of excuse is this....that sort of crap i have heard too many times, and here i am struggling, they're about to cut the jsa and that mean absolutely no money whatsoever....

...it sucks why don't they just put a noose around my neck and that will be that....seriously

If this keeps happening to you then there must be a reason for employers to think this. Once is unlucky, twice is a habit.

Have you moved jobs a lot?
Have you not got a stable job history?
Does your CV show something to make employers think you will not stick around long enough?
Do you say somethng to interviews to make them think this?

As you seem to be getting the interviews I would assme your CV is OK, I would put money on it being somethng you say in interviews - you need to work out what it is and change it!

On the second part of your question.....

Personally, I think the benefit system in this country is pretty shocking and focussed in the wrong direction.

The point of a welfare system to me is to stop people falling through the net into real poverty. By real poverty I mean not having enough to eat rather than not having enough for Sky+.
There are people out there who are genuinely unable to work through illness or disability, there are Pensioners living on tiny amounts of money, worrying about how they pay for their heating. These are the people I want to see supported and looked after.
