Santander Mortage Process

Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on what's going. Our mortgage application was made last Monday, valuation was instructed immediately, I know this is standard with Santander. We have had various documents asked for and submitted, and the valuation is booked in for Monday. Would they book in the valuation if they weren't convinced with our application? Seems a strange way to process the application if so.
Also checked my experian, equifax, and call credit last night and no soft or hard search is showing on either?

Hi, they would still book a valuation regardless of whether they are convinced about your application or not. Do not worry too much as long as you have provided all the documents that they were asking for, you should be fine.0

Easier said then done. I have been out of the country for a long time. And although my credit rating is ok etc, large deposit and small mortgage the suspense is killing me lol. Thanks for the reply anyways.0

I am on the same boat as you are... Still waiting for a response from Santander. I don't think I have any nails left to bite.0

Now being told by my broker that it's the application has gone to head office, whatever that means. Can't take anymore! 0

Why do some brokers make bald statements and not explain their meaning? They might as well have said nothing!
'Passed to head office' is not a term I've ever seen/heard used in connection with a Santander application.
These are the usual ones;-
Application received - documents/information requested
Broker document/submission received
Valuation instructed
Passed to underwriting
Underwriter decision: Application agreed
Application passed to mortgage centre
Valuation received
Application offered
Please ask your broker when making a comment to actually explain it in terms understandable to you.I am a mortgage broker. Well I've just checked the Santander for intermediaries and it says the following, so that's that then. Seems my broker must be lying to me.
We've considered the application carefully, but we can't offer your client(s) a mortgage.
Reason: case declined as per FCO review.0 -
If they are saying "head office" then that's not good. Broad statements are a way of not saying what is happening as they can't give the game away with certain proceedures0

For an intermediary, the Agent of the applicant, to not explain something clearly and unambiguously is very poor IMHO.I am a mortgage broker.
