Do again didn't do everything on my list but I had a good go
- paint 2 x walls in kids room done
- sell toy unit not done
- update budget re money in/out done
- clean and tidy downstairs done
- DD2 sleepover so need to buy nibbles etc i sent the girls when they arrived
- washing x 2 only did one load
- dry washing x 2 again only dried one load
- list 2 x mattresses on FB to sell or give away not done as the girls are using them to sleep on tonight!
So now I am relegated to my bedroom as six 12 year old girls have taken over my living room, but I am hoping that this makes me wrap some presents up!
Money saving today, not much but I was looking in the charity shop for a little present for my dad and found a trike with handle for £6 for my little girl. It's the ones that have a padded seat and you strap the kids in. I think they cost about £100 new do bargain.
Then the girls wanted dominos for tea. I had a bad experience a couple of weeks ago where they had my entire order ready apart from one pizza which I had to wait an extra hour for. So they said the next time I ordered I would get a free pizza. So I phone up, say can I have my free pizza, but there was nothing on the system. In the end they said yep that's ok. So I ordered four large pizzas on the collection deal. And instead of giving me a free pizza they took £25 off my bill. I got four large pizzas for £6.96 - bargain!
Tomorrow will be busy again,
- finish painting kids bedroom
- put up new bed
- tidy house after sleepover!
- update money in/out
- wrap more presents
- sort out printer so I can print from DD1's laptop
And probably a load more stuff that I have forgotten!0 -
Wow that is a bargain for pizza!
I need to start on the never ending washing now......Debt free Feb 2021 🎉0 -
I know, I was very impressed with it. I had budgeted about £50 for the sleepover to include drinks, nibbles and pizzas, and it all came to less than £20.
Aaarrrgggghhhh the washing! I always think I have gotten to the end of the washing and then my eldest brings a full basket downstairs! It really is neverending in my house with six kids! So I feel your pain!0 -
Hi
I've been lurking since you started your thread. You've made some great strides already. well done! £10 a term for after school club for your middle children sounds a fantastic bargain. If mine went to an after school activity it used to cost £2 per session and I used to think that was good value.
Have a good Christmas.0 -

Hi Spendless and thanks for commenting. I am hoping to keep going and not just give up!
Yes at their previous school it was £3 a session so £10 a term is amazing! There is no limit on the number of kids either.
Hope you have a good Christmas too0 -
So today so far has been a no spend day because the shops aren't open :rotfl:
However I have set up weekly standing orders to my savings accounts for yearly things and stuff like clothes and house maintenance. They start going out on Monday and will go out every Monday when I receive tax credits.
I am hoping that my new current account card cones this week so I can transfer over the money for food and petrol for this week.
Then each week on a Monday I will transfer the food and petrol money and will only spend from here. It should help to keep to my budget each week.
Hope you are all having a good Christmas day xx0 -
So today until Friday sometime it's just me and the youngest two. My dad has taken the oldest four back to his house and their dad will pick them up from there tomorrow and drop them back Friday.
Before my dad went he also topped me up with bread and milk so I am hoping today will be a no spend day. We don't need anything in the sales so I won be spending any money there.
I need to get back in the habit of doing a list before bed so I will do that tonight by today will be spent tidying and cleaning up after Christmas in between playing with two youngest children!0 -
It sounds as though you are well on the way to being organised.... think I need to take a few tips out of your book.
Mind you I would need to find some energy first. :rotfl:
I'm sure you'll achieve your goals, and the people on this board are brilliant with suggestions and encouragement.
Out of curiosity why is your name Mumoffourkids when you have six?I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy0 -

Hi Chrystal and thanks for dropping in. I need to be organised with six kids to be honest or it all turns into chaos! I am looking forward to a quiet few days with the biggest four away and the youngest two going to nursery tomorrow and Thursday. I have paid already so they are going and gives me a chance to get loads done!
I am determined this time to achieve being debt free and hopefully it won't take too long, although I could be debt free sooner if we cut everything right back!
My username was from when I only had four kids when I used to use the forum a lot a few years ago. I don't know how to change my username so it stays :rotfl:0 -
