Maplin/Talk Radio advent disappointment

This morning I got a call to say I was on the 5 person shortlist for winning today's prize in the Maplin/Talk Radio advent. They said the winner will be called between 1-4pm today.


So from 1pm I had my phone nearby ready to answer, but it didn't ring. Later I was having a look through the list of callers on my phone & it showed a private caller at 1:34pm.


I couldn't understand why it hadn't rung, so I tried calling my landline from my mobile as a withheld number & it didn't ring even though I got the dial tones on my mobile. After checking my phone settings I found it was set up to block calls where the number is withheld, I really don't remember setting this up.

Not sure what the prize was today that I have missed out on, but they seemed pretty decent prizes in this comp. Very frustrating !! Don't know why they would withhold the number when they didn't for the morning call.

I know when I won on radio station it has always been with held number they used when phoning me

It's often the case that if someone phones you through a switchboard it comes up as a witheld number. It often seems to be true for radio stations and other big companies that their numbers come up as witheld.
