DRO and car change?

Hi, I recently obtained a DRO which I'm obviously over the moon about but I've one question.
My car is 14yrs old and I've been having ongoing problems with it (it's well under the £1000 threshold) I was thinking of selling and buying a scooter. Can I do this when under a DRO? Also my parents have offered to give me some cash to buy a better scooter probably putting me over the £1000 threshold, can someone tell me can I do this?
Do the DVLA inform the Official Receiver that I've changed my car or do I have to? Thanks for any info

The onus is on the debtor to inform the insolvency service of any changes that are likely to lead to there DRO been revoked.
You are free to do anything under the rules, you dont inform them of anything unless your situation changes, and you no longer qualify for a DRO.
A way around it would be if one of your parents remained the owner (for now) of the scooter, and you were the named driver, that way you do not contravene the DRO regulations, and you can sleep contented at night...........I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
