Good luck with this.
Sorry i can't advise anything to help budget wise, but if possible get your CV onto as many online websites as well as other employment agencies for only permanent work. I temped for a long time and was unaware that the agencies had a seperate agreement with the companies that employed me so that if i was employed fulltime by that company, they had to pay a finders fee to the agency. It didn't matter what the job was, just that i had worked in some position at that company in the last 6 months. Something to bear in mind when arranging interviews - you may already be at a disadvantage before you start. I discovered this by accident after i was asked if i wanted to work somewhere fulltime, but then they said they couldn't because of the extra fee.
The agency i was with was supposed to be looking for fulltime work for me while i was also temping, but if you are making them money - they don't bother. Over a 9 month period, i had no interviews or calls from the agency even though i called them every week to see if anything was available. I was eventually informed when i asked what companies they were putting me forward to that they weren't actually looking for anything for me as i was actively working.

Hi Liliboo
This is my first post. I read yours and felt I had to write straight away! I am in the same position as you now after leaving uni. I didn't have any financial help from my parents so as well as my student loan I left with credit card and overdraft debts. I now have a full time job but for a period of more than six months I earnt very little as I was concentrating on my dissertaion, moved 100 miles away and did low paid temporary agency work after I graduated, and survived on loans. There is more to the story but that is for another post!
I feel completed stuck in a rut. I see friends travelling, buying houses and going on holidays and don't understand how they can afford them. I feel awful for being really down about as I know there are plenty of people much worse off than me. I want to pay off all my debts so I can finally start to live.
Sorry for rambling on and the fact that I haven't actually given you any advice!
Just want you to know I know exactly how you feel.Halifax c/c £1730 Halifax o/d £1220

Keeping this post up to date, I was a bit naughty on Tuesday, went swimming which cost 3.10, bought sweets for my cousins at a cost of about £4, had lunch at KFC £3.19, then went to the football as planned, £5.
Yesterday was alot more disciplined however I couldn't resist chips from the takeaway after work and a drink in the pub over the road, total cost = £3.60.
I must be more strict with myself. Have to get petrol today but i will be strict and not buy chocolates & crisps while im there. I'm also selling a few things today so thats a bit extra cash and looking after my cousins which I expect will earn me about £15.
And thanks Molly24...its comforting to know I'm not the only one in this position...I just keep thinking life would be so much easier if I could just get a permanent job.
Ah well...my time will come as my Grandma always says.

Been away from my computer for a few days so not been able to keep this up to date.
Have been quite good though even in my absence from this site. Had a couple of No Spend Days and trying for another today.
The only slip was the £7 I paid for parking at work on Saturday. I had to work a double shift & couldnt get on the staff carpark so this was the cheapest way to do it.
Other than that though I spent nothing on Friday or Sunday and made £20 looking after my cousins on Thursday night, so I'm not too concerned. And it's payday on Friday

Well for todays update, yesterday was a very successful No Spend Day :j however I've just been to town today and bought moisturiser (£15) and my first Christmas Present (£4.99) plus paid £1 for parking.
I'm getting better as these were both things I needed to buy and with the moisturiser I got two extra free gifts that I would have had to buy in a few weeks anyway so that's saved me a few quid in the long run.
I know I need to get my spending under control and I've started logging everything on Spendingdiary.com so I'll analyse that at the end of the month to help with budgeting and cutting back on the unneccessary spending.
Also find out on monday when I am to start my new project support role for a lovely £10ph which will help alot with my forward planning.
I think thats all for now, any words of encouragement, advice or just a kick when you see me flagging will be much appreciated.
