Tax changes in Gordon Brown's last budget will mean that the tax-free allowance for pensioners will rise to approx £10k - still to take effect though from around 2009/10.0

What is the rationale in terms of avoiding 'bank's products'?
Because they are virtually all expensive and poor quality. Even the banks that retail a named insurance company products are retailing more expensive versions or cut down versions of the whole of market version.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
