E: 13/12 Win a three-night break for two in Portugal
Sunday Times Where Was I? competition
The prize:
The winner and a guest will stay for three nights, B&B, at the Magnolia hotel, a boutique bolthole that brings Miami to the Algarve. Just outside Quinta do Lago, the hotel reopened on October 1. It has 74 pastel-coloured rooms, furnished in an unfussy style, and an informal all-day restaurant run by head chef Tom Briggs, whose CV includes stints at Soho House and the Hoxton Grill, both in London. The laid-back cocktail bar overlooks the pool and hosts regular DJ sets.
The Magnolia is a lively, relaxed base from which to explore the Algarve, and golf and watersports can be easily arranged — as can professional-level training in the elite Campus sports facility nearby.
The prize includes return flights to Faro from London and transfers. It must be taken between January 3 and May 31, 2018, subject to availability and excluding public holidays.
Questions
1 What is the name of the town?
Answer: Alnwick
2 Who was the king?
Answer: Malcolm III of Scotland
