Thoughts on Boom25?

I've been using Boom25 for almost 2 years now and have won over £1200 to date so I can say that it is legit but there are a couple caveats worth mentioning. To begin with I was quite impressed with Boom25's tracking rates and offerings of an often much better than 1 in 25 chance of winning 100% cashback but the good days are gone as more often than not, they're only offering 25-50% cashback for a retailer and it's rarely much better than 1 in 25 chance. More over, it takes 21 business days (so best part of a month) to receive your money via PayPal unless you're willing to take a hefty "handling fee" of up to 17% for a quicker payout. It's a shame they don't offer alternative payout methods like bank transfers without any fees.
You do earn a small bonus with every purchase if you don't win which is nice but is only worth anything if you go on to win as you cannot withdraw bonuses on their own.

I went to Boom after reading about it in the newsletter and I am a bit confused. From the newsletter I was under the impression that Boom works like any other cashback website, i.e. you click through & your purchase is tracked. However, when I clicked on some of the retailers (eg Currys) it says: "Get a Currys PC World UK Gift Card - Buy store credit to win it back! - Every 25th Wins"There isn't really a reference to that in the MSE article, apart from a mention of "gift card" without explanation.I just think it would've been good to mention this in the article, as not everyone will want to buy a gift card from a business they had never heard of before I think.

I see Booking.com is on Boom25. Would there be anything stopping me from booking a free cancellation room, cancelling it if I didn't win and then trying again until I did?0

Joined up via the link here on MSE and once you are in, it isn't clear at all that you are getting an "MSE referred" favourable rate of odds of 1:8 plus since I made a single (low value) purchase on eBay to test Boom out, now that it is tracked, not only are they only paying out 25% if you win whereas the page here on MSE says that eBay are one of the retailers where you can get 100% of your purchase back if you win but the odds of "winning" are only 1:15.Furthermore, after joining, the website flashed up a banner indicating that you could get a £5 bonus if you made a purchase via Boom within 2 hours. Clicking on it brought up no links to any T&Cs nor were any qualification criteria flagged up for your attention; only later did I spot the terms which were it had to be a single purchase with minimum value of £20 excluding VAT and delivery. All in all, a bit of a disappointing sign-up experience.

I've used Boom for a while now and highly recommend it, however the links are not working properly. I click on your link and it takes me to the page with the 1 in 8 participating shops, but when click on one I just get the spinning circle and nothing will load.0

We use Boom25 for ebay purchases - and have never won any cashback. Not sure why we bother tbh!
I'm new round here, used to be on old forum, and hubby is a regular on here, but I've only just rejoined. Hello!1
