Redemption Statement

Hi all.
I'm going through a remortgage which is supposed to complete early January. Started the process back in September with everything going smoothly up until it came to receiving a redemption statement which I have been waiting for since September.
Using Breeze and Wyles and the LMS system for the conveyancing. Called the solicitors and essentially got fobbed off. Called again and was told they can only receive the redemption statement on the month before completion, which will be December.
Is that true?

Interest builds daily so until the legal work is done and The date is set they can’t get a redemption statement.0
