Well folks, let’s hope Scotland follows suit and scraps the LBTT for fist time buyers on the 14th (Scottish Budget)
I am so hoping Nicola Sturgeon decides to listen and follow on from Ruth’s blistering comments that the housing market has slowed down ever since it was introduced
I messaged Nicola on Twitter but never had a response, not that I thought I would anyway
Only the LBTT in Ireland, Wales and England has been scrapped

I hope so but as the SNP love raising taxes I don't hold out much hope. Would save me nearly a grand if they did however.0

We have just purchased a new house but not completing till mid Feb
This would be a blessing if they scrapped the LBTT straight away just like what Westminister did
Would save us £11000 -
I'm not due to conclude missives until mid January so i have my fingers tightly crossed Sturgeon and her ilk do the right thing and get in line with the rest of the country.0

Here here
Although for first time buyers, there sure isn’t a lot of people in Scotland bothered about it on here ....which is worrying0 -
I wouldn't hold out much hope. SNP policy seems to be do the opposite of Westminster. If they do scrap it then no doubt will come with a sting in the tail such as a rise in the basic rate of income tax.0

1 more day to go
I hope Nicola Sturgeon (or co.) has read my Email, had a reply from their Public Engagement Unit a few days ago that it was being passed over to her office
Won’t change anything but at least I tried0 -
Scottish Budget at Holyrood on BBC2
“A new relief for Land and Bulidings Tax (LBTT) for First Time buyers up to £175k
ALL first time buyers will benefit from this and as a result 80% of FTB will be taken out of LBTT altogether”
I’m hoping this will start now or at the start of 2018 but no word on this0 -
Is that a relief on the value of the house up to 175k or on properties upto 175k (it's being reported a few different ways online currently)
I hope it's the former and that I'll only be liable for the LBTT for the portion above 175k. I'm sure they'll still find some way to get my money...0
