it seems they are applying the same rules to lifte time mortgage as they do to equity release .

    Which they should do.
I'm not surprised people cant get decent help, in my opinion Mortgage advisors, financial advisors are right up there with used car salesmen.

You get the service you deserve. Perhaps you should hold a mirror upto yourself instead of blaming others.

Excuse me, but I was informed that the two are separate and away from each other, both enable you to stay in your home its true, but the one way is help for people who cannot qualify for equity release under the rules laid down by the money men in Government, as such the machinations of each are different.

I'm not blaming others .. I'm just a man on the street trying to get help the way he is told it is there to be had ... as for looking in the mirror ... in the business are you, if you're the one getting upset perhaps as they say the truth hurts ... if you can't help, please leave it to those who can and keep your opinions as to who (you think) I am to yourself.

    Yes of course ... whatever ... !!!
  • As far as I can see your chances of any equity release are slim due to v little equity to play with. Everyone on here has tried to help but you’ve thrown it back in their face and believe your case is better than what it is.

If you went down lifetime mortgage route the accumulated interest would wipe out your equity in 9-10 years, maybe even sooner. From that point on the company makes a lose. And you wonder why no one wants your case?

To repeat my post from December,

It may be that at your age, your income, combined with the equity in the property, there is no equity release financially possible.
That’s always going to be the case for some values of all those things.
That doesn’t mean there is a conspiracy against you.
  • Can I just ask what it is you think mortgage advisors do?

Mortgage advisors help people borrow money from banks by fitting you to the lenders criteria at the best possible rate.

The banks set the criteria and actually have the money to lend

If you don't fit any lenders criteria then there is nothing a mortgage advisor can do to change that. Mortgage advisors don't lend you their money and they are not conspiring against you. If you don't fit a banks criteria you don't fit.
