might be a good place to start. You could also try your local Salvation Army, Shelter.org.uk or even Social services.
  • I feel sorry for those on their own at christmas. I had a lone christmas a few years back. WOrked til 2 am , parents away , sister at boyfriends. Woke up nad it was 1pm. Calle me mate , he was alone , so we had turkey burgers , a crate of beer and watched films. Actually a good christmas.

But getting back to the point. When I used to have to work christmas night or boxing day , I was on me todd in a huge building. I would do the Buffet thing. Me and all the guys who were doing lonesome shifts from christmas eve til new year would by things each week. It was good as you could snack all night and there was loads.

Chees freezes well (hard cheese that is) . Stilton is a good xmas cheese but dont get tempted by those pots they come in. I got a decen bit from Lidl last year. Also , keep an eye out for chocolates etc...... on offer at lidl. I have started buying all our bits as mum has an op soon and will be out of action and dad is clueless about food shopping.

Lidl have 900g xmas cake for £4 which last year was ok. There mince pies were ok as awell. ANd their meat mince can sometimes be quite good and makes a decent spag bog.

Dont be tempted by fancy packaging is the big tip. I got all my pressies in last years sales.
