Buying Houses Abroad? HELP Needed!

Hello,

My dads looking to morgage up a home in florida, but the only thing is that he doesnt have a morgage here in the UK, he rents a council home and has doen for the past 15 years. We herd that you cant get a morgage abroad if you do not have one here in the UK. Can anyone help us?

    I don't think that there is any relation. It' s not important to have a mortgage in the UK, but more important if you are able to get one in the US. He is US citizen? If yes, then you should be able to apply for a mortgage. It might that still other rules apply!
