I was just wondering if there are any/many MSE members within the Dumfries & Galloway region? It would be nice to be able to exchange some savings news here and find out who is offering what, where and for how much.

Sorry, I'm moving to Embra to sus out the bargains! But here are some thoughts anyway -
Probably for us the main bargain area is Gretna gateway. Due to lack of competition we seem to have to pay more, but I find Carlisle a good source of deals. Lots of cheap family days out at the coast tho', and I suppose Robt Bruce in Dumfries is good value for pint and pie. Watch TJHughes for bargains. It comes down to individual recommendations in a rural area, example is Express Tyres in Lockerbie who I find excellent, but you geta better deal when you are known to them I think!0
