in Cutting tax
If you want low taxation become a resident. £15000 allowance per person. 21% on next £12000 and the rest at %26. No higher rate. No capital gains. No inheritance tax. The only down side is our only bank offers just %.5 interest but all interest from the bank is tax free.To gain money, is bring your multi millions with you and negotiate a preferential rate which will then be tax free. If you bank outside of the Falklands then Government tax you on the interest. What a way to help savers.

And the earning potential compared with mainland UK is what exactly ?
I'd rather pay 40% of my (substantial) salary than 26% of nothing

I have a life that involves spending some time on the internet and most time not making pointless posts to provoke a reaction. The tax I pay goes towards providing the infrastructure I enjoy (National Opera for example) and supporting those less "fortunate" than me, to whom I do not begrudge the support I provide, for example, paying towards stationing the armed forces on their island to prevent another invasion.
I also don't feel the need to post on a website connected with the "homeland" because I have nothing else to do.Johnny_Hach wrote: »I am a UK citizen that has been a Falkland Island resident for 40 years. Anybody know a UK bank that I can open an account with. Can then start saving.0
