Message on wage slip

Ive had a message on my wage slip .
Pay date 29/1120117 will be for contracted hours only.
Any adjustments will be made 5/01/2017.
I know that i will be working more than my contrated hours the week
before. Is this allowed?

Whether it's allowed or not makes little difference now. We have passed 29/11 so the earliest date on which any adjustments can be made will be next pay day.

I suspect he means 29th December, and it's probably because his payroll department may not be working to process the extra hours at a guess.

We always pay non-contracted hours an extra month behind - so today I've been recording overtime worked in November which will be paid in December.

How does this differ from what usually happens?
