Its terrible so far this year. Nothing like previous years im really hoping it picks up.

Think the promoters know how popular competitions are nowadays and think they can offer any old tat and get loads of entries, damn the ones who enter for any old tat :mad:

There are so many open door ,fill in details type comps,that it makes a refreshing change from wading through a sea of sob stories, hooray!

As I have just got my new puppy to keep me busy, Twinkle, I feel so much less stressed over the Advents because I am only entering for prizes that are decent and really want to win - and there aren't that many this year! Over the past few years I was spending hours and hours on them per day so by the time Christmas arrived I was 'knackered' and with very few decent wins as reward for my efforts!

Lovely puppy Comping hard today postwomen never posted anything through my letterbox or knocked on my door felt like opening and asking her to double check lol.

Unfortunately though, I do think it works as a lot of compers do enter for any old tatt ... some of the homes of compers out there must look like a B&M shop exploded in their living room.

I agree too! I hate tat! It psychologically drives me doollally if there is tat nearby! :eek:

I can't believe it's been a week already! No wins for me so far this month-lots of comps I'm not interested in-too much tagging & sob stories wanted or naff prizes. I've noticed a lot of people complaining that they can't enter that day's comp because It's on a social platform they don't use and insist it should be run on the platforms they use-many companies are running comps on their different platforms each day, I don't personally mind-I wont tag people in comps on TW or FB but will on Insta-So I personally don't have a problem with the changing methods of entry.

I hate the ones that say 'tag loads of people' A lot of my FB 'friends' wouldn't really appreciate my tagging them. I think I get up people's noses by doing the sharing thing tbh (although, I couldn't care less about some folk on there anyway lol)
I don't have instagram/Pintrest anyway, so I'm not bothered about comps exclusive to those, but I have seen a few comments directed at the promoters requesting that they add either TW or FB so they can enter. I think it is a tad cheeky, but some people seem to be scared of missing out trying to win a candle/air freshener/bag of sweeties, etc.
Plenty of sob stories as expected too. I'm surprised that the 'selling your soul' thread hasn't gone into overdrive tbh, but we have seen a lot of it before. I have seen a couple of 'disabled children' stories trying to win a packet of pencils though. Oh dear.
BTW - a week already? It won't be long before this is over and we'll be talking about and getting ready for next years :eek:
Oh yeah, and I have won some fridge magnets & a £50 voucher, so I'm quite happy. :T
