Changing a will

I'm probably in the wrong dept, but must admit this forum has to be the most difficult and complicated one I've ever come across - not easy to navigate.
I would like to know what is the cheapest option to change a will ? the solicitor that drew up my original will wants £120. My circumstances have changed dramatically now and I just don't have that money - I am claiming benefits and HB, can anyone advise please ? Thank you.

If you have no assets then your estate will be insolvent and if your executor is wise will walk away from the task. Even if you have a small estate it will still be insolvent if it is worth less than any funeral costs.

Under those conditions there is little point in actually having a will.

I should have said one 'beneficiary' - so even though I have no savings, what about furniture and other possessions ? I'm wondering why my original solicitor didn't tell me this ?
Just another thought - the reason for a will was to get the 'other persons', name removed.

Is your beneficiary likely to want your furniture?

If there is no money in the estate the executor would still be well advised to walk away and let the landlord / housing association pay for clearing the house.

DIY Wills are generally to be avoided. But if there is nothing in the estate to distribute then nobody can lose out from a badly drafted Will.

There is a Deaths Funerals and Probate board which may be of more help.

I think the Will Aid service is generally in November, so too late this year, but there may be an alternative, if you check the article.
