Girls birthday cake - recipe ideas please

Hi all,

After years of buying a cake for birthdays one of our girls is quite insistent that for her birthday she would like us to make her a birthday cake for her party.

So, where do I start any recommendations of recipes?

I have cake tins and various coloured icings but no idea...

She's the one insisting, so get her to give you the ideas - that way she can't complain it wasn't what she wanted! Ask what flavour, what shape (you might give a steer on that by listing the options, based on the cake tins you own), type of icing, colour, decorations etc.
