Hi, I've joined this MSE forum today... Is it possible for me to sign up to this challenge even though we're nearly half-way through the year? I have some serious decluttering to do and a need to transform my financial situation.
I'm a mature student who is hoping to find work in a few months time and return to my research Master's course in September if my back issue is resolved with treatment! Living on benefit is sending my finances through the floor... I need to clear the debts that are accumulating.
Is that okay? Can you also explain how this works, please?
Thanks in advance.df-MRes student

Hello! This is a very informal challenge, people have been joining in throughout the year. All you do is keep track of any extra income you've made (I've got a simple little Excel spreadsheet), and let us know how you're doing - some people post every time they find 2p... Personally I post at the end of each month, but each week is fine too(and a lot of people put their total in their signatures to keep track
)
It's up to you what you count - some count overtime, others don't. Coins you find in the street, money you make decluttering, gift cards you redeem doing surveys etc - whatever you decide :money:
Good luck!

Hi, MissPop!
Thanks so much for taking the time to explain this challenge to me. I'll also use a spreadsheet. It will be much easier to keep track of savings and money made during the week. I'll be trying to beat my personal best week's total once the week 1 total is in.
All the best,
