Question about quinces

Fruittea

Hi Everyone. I have been given a bag full of quinces and wondered if anyone has ideas on what I could do with them. I have made quince jelly in the past but thought there might be other uses.
Thanks in advance.

Quinces go well with pears - try a quince and per crumble with about 50:50 fruit mix or a bit more pear than quince....and quite a lot of sugar!0

Also with apples in pies, crumbles, Eve's puddings etc. Don't wait too long to use them, mine looked beautiful but were brown and dry when cut.0

Put some in the Apple bowl, so the apples absorb the scent
Roast with apples, shallots and celeriac
Stud with cloves to make a pomander0 -
Make some Membrillo! It's like a thick jelly which you slice and eat with cheeses, and it's lovely.

Back in the days when I hosted a huge Xmas Eve 'do' I always made the dessert simple by putting out the '13 desserts of Provence'. This gives you an idea of how it goes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirteen_desserts but it doesn't tell you that the quince paste symbolises everlasting life. In lucky years it was home made or brought as a gift.0

Peel, core, slice and roast in a bit of orange juice. Very good with roast pork. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
