Have not been paid wages advice needed?

I hope I have posted this in right place, apologies if I haven't.
I was due to be paid today but wages have not been paid in to my account. My contact states I will be paid on a Mondays every 4 weeks.
And today is pay day. I had direct debits going out today, luckily I keep some money incase of this kind of situation so had money to pay direct debits.
But my son is sick and was meant to go in to hospital today and was due to have surgery tomorrow. Due to not being paid I had no money so could not take him, so surgery has had to be postponed.
I went up to work to find out why I had not been paid and discovered no one had been paid. I spoke to manager and apparently person who does wages who is the business owners son decided to go away abroad and could not be bothered to do the wages. All staff have been told we will have to wait until he comes back off holiday. Which is going to be another week. Manager can pay us as he is not aloud to touch the business bank accounts.
Where do I stand legally about not being paid?
I know where I work is not in financial trouble. They are rich. The son of owner is building a new house at moment costing nearly £2million. And like said above is abroad on a luxury holiday.
Do I have any right to be compensated for not being paid and being paid very late.
Any advice much appreciated

If you're paid Monday every four weeks (presumably monthly), what normally happens in a month with five Mondays? Serious question...0

Not sure what it has to do with my question but like I said above I gets paid every 4 weeks not monthly. So I get paid 13 times a year. 1 month a year I end up getting 2 pays one at beginning and one at end of month.

Right? Not as such. You can ask them to compensate for quantifiable losses - but that means things like bank charges for refused payments. So it only covers things that you wouldn't normally have to pay for had the money arrived on time. If they don't compensate toy for these things then you can sue them for these amounts. Just because individuals are rich doesn't mean their company is. The two things are entirely different - plenty of rich people leave strings of insolvent companies littered around the place.0 -

4 weekly pay isn't a new concept, sometimes you get two in a month0 -
You can sue them for costs you have incurred that you wouldn't otherwise have incurred, i.e. things that were directly attributable to the late payment. They also can't withhold wages. You should contact ACAS or union.Debt 1/1/17 - Credit Cards £17,280.23; overdrafts £3,777.24

I hope your son's surgery wasn't urgent as he may be waiting a long time now, did you call the hospital and explain the situation?0
