Paid fine to council bailiff says i still owe him help?!

Hi
i received a letter from bradford council for a bus lane fine, i paid the fine later so it was significantly higher than 30 pounds but jacobs enforcement is now saying i still owe him 310 pounds a month later, i never recieved a letter from jacobs enforcement until a month later after i had already paid, i called him and he said i still have to pay him and he acknowledges ive paid to the council. Help ?? What are my rights?

The bailiffs have to follow a 3-stage process - they can charge you a fixed fee for each stage.
If your debt is over £1,500 they’re also allowed to charge you an extra fee. The fee is only charged on the amount of debt over £1,500 rather than your full debt.

Writing to you about your debt (called ‘compliance’) £75

Visiting your home (called ‘enforcement’) £235

Taking and selling your belongings (called 'sale') £110

Any of this apply to you ?

If he`s asking for £310 it looks like it reached the enforcement stage.
