Why don't you take a photo of the plastic tank and list it on Gumtree for, say, £30?
The boiler, if old with no value, would still be taken away for free by a scrap merchant if you give them a call.0 -
First of all poster doesnt say location in NI for local advice0

Hi all
Bangor is the location.
It's a very old (over 30 years) , rusted metal tank :-(0 -
Scrap dealer for both, you might get a few quid for them but doubtful, taken away and disposed of for free isn't the worst of deals considering possible oil residue in the tank.Norn Iron Club member No 3530

They may be classed as hazardous waste, so you have to dispose of them correctly. Contact the council to ask what you need to do.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Hi S1oane, just in case you've missed it; I've sent you a PM with details of someone who could help.0

If it is made of steel, you might get a scrap merchant to take it away for you for free. I did this a few years ago. They said they would give me nothing for the scrap metal as its value was less than what it cost to collect it. They also wanted me to make sure it was empty. As far as I remember I rang them in the morning and it was away by the afternoon.
If it is plastic then put it on Gumtree. Also some of the plastic recyclers might be interested in it. Remember that plastic oil tanks are surprisingly heavy but you might be able to cut one up and dump it at your Council recycling yard.0 -
Thanks all and happy Xmas. 0
