Does anyone here use the 3 network here in Northern Ireland? I've checked the ofcom website and it seems okay, just wanted to double check first.
I'm thinking of getting their home fi but an just trying to see if it is advisable.
Also does anyone here recommend buying a sim only through a third party? They seem to have some better deals than the main supplier, is this to good to be true?

My wife has been on 3 for years, mainly due to free Skype calls without using data (PAYG). Nine months ago we moved house and no have no signal, tried to use their app for Wifi-based calls and texts, hardly ever works. So, great if you have coverage but totally useless if not.0

Hi
3 is notoriously poor in alot of NI.0 -
3 is rubbish. I did the same checks, before taking a contract in August. Kept the phone around one week before I cancelled during cooling off period.0

Well, I’ve been on 3 for several years. It’s not perfect, no network is, but it’s a darn sight better than O2 which my OH is on. We’re out and about a lot, it’s common for me to have signal when she hasn’t, very rare for the opposite. I use the WiFi calling and have found it excellent. No plans to move network!0

All networks claim to have full / extensive coverage etc... but real world usage often tells a different tale.
We travel all of Ireland in our work & 3 seems pretty good in ROI but not so good up north. EE is a lot better but has suffered recently with drop outs apparently due to mast sharing etc... (Bangor particularly)
O2 has always been good but easily the most expensive network to use. Vodafone for me offers the greatest coverage (except Donaghadee for some reason) & offers an all Ireland tariff saving me around £200/month ... They easily also have the WORST customer service ever known to mankind ... Pros & cons
Your own personal usage / requirements will also bare heavily on what you end up going for0 -

Not if you use Tesco mobile which uses their network0
