as for eviction. wont that screw here chances of renting elsewhere should she choose to in the future?
Not unless she needs a reference from the letting agent/landlord. Evictions are not recorded anywhere, there would only be an indication on her credit record if she got a CCJ which a landlord is unlikely to pursue because its usually just throwing good money after bad. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. fly53, I hope your're not the 'friend' in this case. Don't let this person put anything in your name or use your bank account for anything.Debt 1/1/17 - Credit Cards £17,280.23; overdrafts £3,777.24
Debt 5/1/18 - Credit Cards £3,188; overdrafts £00 -
This has the potential to spiral seriously out of control, application fraud, mule accounts, prosecution, banks account closed for both her and the 'friend'. Unable to open any other bank accounts for both parties. my opinion is speak to the landlord about starting a new tenancy in your own name.0

I can't believe someone would do this rather than talking to the landlord. If the end result is that she's moving home at the end of the tenancy, asking the landlord about terminating it early or reducing the rent seems like the sensible idea. Worst they can do is say no. Worst outcome is that she has to move home (which she was going to do anyway).
landlord is likely to let her break the tenancy and just have her cover the shortfall until someone else is in. Even if she's at home and paying off the rent, she should be saving a small fortune in bills (gas/electric/water/council tax/phone/etc).0
