I am in a conundrum about a mortgage. I have just paid off my IVA and am now totally debt free with no credit to my name as of today. I have never had a mortgage, except when married about 10 years ago and that was in a joint name. I am 42yrs of age and wondered what mortage would be the best option for me, ideally i only want it for 20 years

Congratulations, it must have been a long hard slog!
I would think you're best move would be to start saving for all the expenses of buying a house like solicitors, stamp duty etc and a deposit.
Nobody knows what is going to happen to the housing market but the trend seems to be downward, for first time buyers and those without a house to sell this is probably not a good time to buy, however if you're intent on getting on the housing ladder right now the best move to make would be to see a whole of market broker about your options for 100% mortgages, have you worked out how much you need/can borrow?"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
Good point, I need to put aside some more money for lawyers and fees etc, and also carpets and stuff. I should hope within 6 months I can have that and a small depost. I estimate I can afford £130k0
