“Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.”

Blimey, it might be a real struggle now but you'll feel like you've won the lottery when it comes through. Plus all these months backdated as well. So, half of the first month's payment will see your rent arrears gone :j xx0

It will definitely be totally different to now assuming we win the appeal and she's awarded the same as before. DLA was around £135 a week and it also give an extra £80 a week on tax credits. It's been a lot to lose. It covered all the debts etc and all her things she costs extra. The appointments etc etc.
I just wish it could be sorted sooner so we could be doing the things needed now

I'd say it will be life changing for you especially as the debt has pretty much gone now. And everything else looks like it's covered with what you're already getting.
I know shopping is really tight and there's nothing down for birthdays/Christmas/fun but I can't imagine you spending anywhere near £1k a month extra on those.
Hopefully you'll also be able to build some savings up. xx0 -
I hope you get the answer from DLA sooner than soon - it with make a big difference to your lives.January spends - £587.580

That is an awesome amount to get.

Definitely Tea. It would be nice for the food budget to be slightly more (although not huge that's not what I mean) but yes Christmas/birthdays. Even just something to cover a coffee/ice cream or something. It just made a huge difference to everything. Youngests nappies/syringes etc. And just not having to worry about being on empty so much.
We have another 8-10 months just to reach the 'average' wait time for here so trying not to look that far ahead yet
I'm just happy that there's a realistic budget in place for now.
So on that note.
This weeks budget spent well nearly. £3.32 left in the bank. Slightly under budget on the food side but have a feeling I might need to buy more bread before this time next week. Youngest is attacking the toast (steroids again )
I'm just going to eat my dinner. Get youngest settled and then do the floors. We had a 3am start with youngest this morning so I haven't been very productive today
Thank you for all your replies
Hope you've all had a good day

You are doing amazingly and I agree about needing a realistic budget. Then you get the win from being under budget if you can, but don't have to worry every month.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

Morning
Quickly popping in before school run. Have stuff on today and an appointment to get too.
Feeling a bit over my head with stuff. DS had a complete meltdown last night over something at school and I was shocked at how he spoke to me. Not impressed. I think we're all ready for the summer break. The relative I asked about my dad's ring has now blocked me  weird. Take it that's a dead end and I should just give up. Have looked around the house but we really don't have anything to list up for sale. Think I just have to accept being okay budget wise and be grateful for where I am. Wouldn't have been possible without the help I've received from here.
Thank you again will be back later x“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0 -
Morning WB
Nice to hear the DC's are well enough to go back to school.
DS will soon be a big fish at school, maybe he's testing out his fins and seeing how far he can get at homeThe dreaded hormones are probably due to make an appearance soon as well
Your budget is tight but you do have everything covered so that's a really good place to be - just keep reminding yourself of that.
Hope you have a nice day. xx0
