Hi
I have set up DMP with payplan, they've confirmed all balances, but no offers have been made, now I'm getting debt collection letters, but because i've paid payplan this month I have no money to pay them. Is is this normal I'm a little nervous and can't reach anyone!??

Pls help
Looking for solutions and hoping for a miracle!

  • I know it's not nice, but I think it's pretty normal. H set up his DMP in July with Payplan and he's STILL getting nasty letters now, mostly from Lloyds who are apparently very well know (according to Payplan) for getting nasty :(

He (as advised by Payplan) just copies the letters and sends them to Payplan and sometimes (if it asks in the letter) he calls them to tell them that Payplan are now dealing with his creditors and requests they get in touch with them.

I know they're horrid (and I'm dreading it starting myself) but try not to get too upset, it's pretty normal.

    hi
i started dmp with cccs in June and it is normal to receive letters (some of them strongly worded and also quite scary. I have folders for every creditor and when i received a letter i just filed them. (the lloyds folder is very thick believe me) having said that lloyds have accepted an arrangement now for me but not for my husbands account.
I would say that the letters do stop mine stopped after about 3 months and the phone calls stopped after about 2 months. It is tough the first few months and very upsetting but it is worth it. You are not alone and lots of others have felt this way, well done for facing the music.

    take care for now
  • Thank-you, it's been a while since been on here and it did worry me what with getting married and sorting things out I'm a little nervous, but hopefully it'll go smoothly, marrying on a budget is great fun though - quidco has helped me raise over 300 which is cool. I am so greatful for the support

  • Another thing, is that (for me anyway) although I pay Payplan on the 1st on the month, this doesn't get to the creditors for a couple of weeks, so by the time they've processed it, it's normally appears on my CC statements as around the 18th.

Most creditors eventually recognised this, and have adjusted their 'due by' dates.

I found the worst time was just after signing up with Payplan - some creditors take so long to admit they've received the paperwork - some were still calling even after I had received a letter stating they accepted my proposal - one dept didn't seem to know what the others were doing. I'm ashamed to say that I unplugged my phone at weekends as I couldn't cope with the phone calls.

However, it was the best thing I ever did, so keep with it and you'll get there

    Hi

Do not panic. All par for the course. It does settle down and you will soon be wondering why you are getting no letters from your creditors.

Been with Payplan since March. No hassle really look after you. Well done on your progress
