Does anyone know whether open university students can get an HMV card?

Unfortunately i've registered my card with hmv so i can't give it away for the discount as it only works on one account.

The deal I'm going for tomorrow is at Argos, 60GB console with 3 games is £349, also if you use or take up an Argos card you get 9 months interest free. Works out £29 per month for 9 months to pay it all off! Or you can add more games/accessories and they'll be added to the interest free period too.:beer:

My mate got the bundle deal at Virgin and used his Virgin credit card for 10% off - at first was told he couldnt use it by a manager but went back before closing time and the sales assistant said yeah fine

Only thing is couldnt get the code to work properly and the only one that would work took the price down to £303 (from the intitial £350)

After a few nice words to the SA she said sod it and put it through for £303 - other mate so impressed he brought one on the spot as well!!!!

They even swapped some games and just paid the difference bewtween the 2.

Try it - its well worth it!

Got my bundle yesterday at Virgin XS in Ashford.

Console, 2 games and a extra Controller £303.50 using Virgin CC

Had a bit of trouble getting the discount. Told by manager that I couldnt get the discount on the Hardware, only the games. Which is total crap, as I checked the virgin site the night b4. Then he said they were not part of Virgin and only used the name for branding, again total crap. My advice dont leave the shop until you get your discount. They will try it on!!!

The Amazon and Gamestation deals seem to have been scaled down a bit - seems like there's just two games (an an optional HDMI cable) at Amazon, and no films in the bundle at Gamestation.

I'm tempted to just go for the deal at Currys with Quidco, but would really like a film in the bundle too - would be a shame to miss out with a HD TV!

If there are any "student discount" routes that someone could PM me with, feel free!
