No you didn't. You said that of migrants who come here with nothing but the cloth on their back, 50% can afford to buy, therefore what is the problem. You've been pulled up on this and can't think of a way out so as per usual are just confusing everything. Once again, you assumed that migrant = poor, but actually as I have pointed out to you it means everything but for a lot of these people. So, the fact that migrants can buy houses does not prove your point. Until you recognise the problem with your initial statement this is going nowhere.

    Let's try this once more

GA: houses in most the country are cheap/affordable
Windy: No its all a bubble and needs to and will crash big time
GA: Don't be stupid homes are close to reinstatement value and mortgage repayments close to social rents for most the country.
Windy: blah blah blah I don't care 50% crash now!
GA: houses are so affordable nearly 50% of recent migrants own many who came here with nothing but the cloths on their back.
Windy: you are stupid don't you know there are foreign football managers and Arab oil men on millions?
GA: So what 50% of recent migrants own and that goes towards 70% for those that have been here long term.
Windy: look I've found some stats that show migrants earn a few pennies per hour more
GA: OK probably because they live more so in London and the south where wages are higher how is that anything to do with the fact that even recent migrants are at 50% ownership and this grows to 70% for longer term migrants?
Windy: You've been pulled up on this and can't think of a way out so as per usual are just confusing everything.
GA: Sure I am confusing everyone by saving look in most the country homes are cheap, mortgage repayments are similar to social rents, prices are not much above reinstatement cost, UK born ownership is close to 70%, 75% of private renters buy in 10 years or less and to top it all off even the recent migrants are at 50% ownership and the long time migrants at 70%
Windy: stop it stop it now 50% crash by Christmas please!
  • Damn just seen the cut in stamp duty for FTB, I just bought my first gaff a few months ago for 200k.

Guess if I ever come to sell I'll just add an extra 2k onto the asking price.
