Its not out until next Easter(ish) time. If you do end up buying one from the USA, chances are you'll end up paying the same on import duties unless you go over there to get one.
If you do that you'll need a transforner - Maplins do them - which is another £25-£30 cost.
IMO you're better off waiting for it come out here as charging it wont be a problem when you're not at home.
Im taking from experience here. We bought GBA SP's when we were in Florida and although I already had a transformer from previous US console bought - its a pain for the GBA SP when you're away from home and it runs out.Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

The US release date is 21st November and the price is expected to be $149 (about £79 minus import duties), they are available for pre-order at the below site, which also sells the AC converters. Dont know if UK games will be compatible when released.

this place is selling them for £199.99 delivered, first place ive seen with a price. they also claim their is a good probability of UK games being compatible, as no previous nintendo handheld has had problems.
seems a bit expensive, and the site is pretty shoddy so might be worth waiting a bit until more prices are announced.
