Options
Apart from vinegar and b/crb or washing soda is there anything ese I could try to ensure my washing machine pipes are free from gunge apparently according to another site ,if you wash on low temps as I do to save money ,the hoses become blocked with bacteria, happened to me this week ,so I put on a boil wash to clear things through ,but wondered are there any recipes out there .I know aldi have a cleaner on special ,sun ,but would rather save money but not at the expense of my machine, any tips.

Ellie, I don't think it's so much the low temperature, as excess soap or softener that causes a build up of gunge.

In Canada and the US, they tend to wash on cold all the time.
With biological powders, they are 'low suds' and as such, we shouldn't see a washer full of bubbles.
