I have a continual battle with mould in our kitchen and bathroom (despite regular airings) and rather than keep buying Mould Sprays, I am going to experiment and make one myself using ordinary bleach (which seems to be an ingredient in so-called specialist mould sprays). I wonder if I need to add anything to it; what ratios to use (eg. equal bleach and water).
Anyone done this already?

I wouldn't spray bleach. You will end up with a fine mist of it floating around the room. It won't do your lungs, nose or eyes any good.
Just make up a dilute solution of it and apply it with a cloth.
We occasionally get mould on our utility room ceiling. I wash it with dilute bleach solution. Rinse it with clean water, then apply this (with a cloth)...

Use 1 teaspoon of bleach added to 500ml of room temp water. Always measure the water into your bucket and then add the bleach, rather than adding water to bleach, iyswim. Doing it that way round prevents a sudden chemical reaction.
Obvs, wear gloves and be extra careful if applying above head height because drips are more likely.
I agree with Gloomendoom, dab with a cloth rather than spraying.
I use the method on the bottom of my front door, which is prone to condensation and mould, and have successfuly treated rush-seat chairs, too.I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
I had an issue with reoccuring mould in a previous property (despite addressing leaky gutter and constant ventilation - the houses just seemed prone to damp and don't think the two big dogs breathing out warm wet air all day helped), I ended up buying the additive for paint. Never came back, so would definitely recommend it.
I also had not too bad success with the Astonish mould & mildrew remover, which was recommended on here quite a lot0
