We just bought a moissanite ring from Ideal World, where they have a few on offer. Not for an engagement. I like the idea that the hardness is approaching that of diamond. The trouble with CZ is the brilliance doesn't last, partly because it's not so hard. There seems to be lots of enhanced CZ around, but it's hard to be sure exactly what you are getting, I think. I also don't think CZ will take the wear that a diamond, and hopefully moissanite will.

Very pleased with the moissanite ring we bought. Hope it looks as good in 10 years time.

I think that if and when proper simulated diamonds get mass produced, it will make a big dent in De Beers. Not everyone will need the real McCoy, especially if you can get perfect colour/flawless stones for a lot less.

Just checked the Lily Arkwright Link. Those rings look really nice. From reading up, the C&C Forever One is labelled as pure white in colour. Older ones sometimes had a slight yellow tinge I think. Good luck! :)

The more i read about de beers and the diamond cartels the happier i feel about buying a moissanite engagement ring. I obviously don't begrudge anyone buying diamonds, i guess eventually we'll move on from diamonds to somethings else.

I'm thinking about a moissanite engagement ring, its really hard to find out that much information from UK suppliers. Are you guys still happy with your moissanite rings?

I hope I’m not too late with my reply.

I have a 2ct moissanite solitaire set in 18ct yellow gold and I absolutely love it. I’ve had it around 5 years now and it looks as good as when it was brand new. I treat it exactly the same way I would if it was a diamond - using the proper jeweller cleaning dip from a jewellers. It’s had its share of average bumps and bangs, like any other ring and has not chipped or scratched.

I wouldn’t buy a diamond now on principle having seen how the workers are treated and the obscene mark up on price - deliberately kept artificially inflated. Everyone assumes my ring is a diamond anyway and I’ve had loads of compliments throughout the years on its beauty. In sunlight the refraction and colour is amazing too.
