3rd party, fire and theft, didnt seem to make it much cheaper
I will try those companys dire....
Dire which company did you get your insurance with originally0 -
Hi, if you are going to be the main driver of the car then I would strongly suggest that you put yourself as the main driver on the insurance and your Dad/Uncle as a named driver. If you do not and have an accident, insurance companies have been known to ask neighbours etc... who the main user of the vehicle was and have refused to pay out as they have been given false information and therefore voiding the insurance.
Insurance I believe or it used to be higher on Vauxhalls as they were relatively easy to break into, so if your heart is set on a Corsa it may be worth considering a Cat1 alarm system and immoboliser this would help to lower the premiums.
Any modifications would make the premium higher so a standard one would be better. Modifying it (even alloy wheels) and not informing the insurance would again make it void.
Have you completed Pass Plus http://www.passplus.org.uk/ as this could and most probably would lower your premium.
The following websites might be useful if you haven't tried them already:

Any recomendations? Im luking to buy a 2004-2006 corsa 1.0 .....
Yes... perhaps think about getting a car which is cheaper to insure?
A 1-3 year old car is quite new for a new driver, I'm not suggesting you get some old banger (unless you really want to save money on the insurance, running costs etc) but if you can't afford the insurance for such a new car, perhaps get something different.
Try out quotes for older cars to see if that makes much difference.0 -
Some info here and an explanation of insurance fronting and why it can land you in a lot of bother.

Many insurers regard 21 as a bit of a milestone, age wise, as well as 25 and 30. You should start to see premiums reduce once you reach 21.0 -
i get around the same quote even if i try to older models like the 1999 models....its only £50 difference ....
The difference between a new polo and the the corsa isnt that much either ....
Which cars would be cheap to insurance and what sites would be best for a new driver?
EDITTTT .....i just got 1600 on a polo 54 plate 1.2 .....at quinn-direct.com....Flether mate your a star!!!0 -
As you are a "young inexperienced" driver the age of the car will probably have little influence on the cost of the insurance.
An insurance group 1 car would be the lowest to insure, you can see these here Parkers Insurance
The best way to get lower insurance is to build up No claims discount on your own policy. As said in my previous post there are a few ways you can bring your insurance down by doing the pass plus and adding a experienced driver as a named driver on the policy.
