I recommend the Jacquie Lawson interactive advent calendars every year - not because I'm anything to do with the company, just because I think they're great.
I get one for the littles in the family and I treat myself too - I love logging in to see what activities there are each day.
They work in 'real time' so if you log on in the morning, you'll see a daylight scene, go back in the evening and you'll see something like the lights on in the house windows or the moon will be out - just lovely!
